About the Instructors
School Resource Officer Lauren Maldonado has always had a passion for childhood education and enrichment. As a former elementary school teacher, Officer Maldonado gravitated toward the community service aspect of policing. When the time came to appoint the first ever School Resource Officer for Deerfield District 109 schools, she was the perfect choice and has done an outstanding job ensuring the safety of elementary and middle school students.
During his assignment to the Investigations unit beginning in 2018, Sergeant Trevor Salato attended numerous courses and received several certifications from Celebrite and Magnet Forensics in advanced digital forensics to investigate cell phone and other digital crimes. Salato then became a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force dedicated to investigating, prosecuting and developing effective responses to internet crimes against children. In 2021 Trevor completed a five week course of study at the National Computer Forensic Institute in Alabama sponsored by the United States Secret Service.
Let’s work together to keep your kids safe online!
