Engaging and Educating Youth
The Deerfield Police Department Junior Police Academy is a one-week program designed to build a bond of trust and friendship between the police department and youth in our community. Participants will be exposed to a variety of law enforcement topics through a blend of instruction and hands-on activities in order to gain valuable insights into the duties and responsibilities of police officers. The Junior Police Academy offers a unique opportunity to dive into the world of law enforcement while developing skills like fitness, leadership, service and safety. Participants will receive a Junior Police Academy T-shirt!
Summer 2026 Sessions
There are two sessions that both run Monday-Friday, August 3-7, 2026 at the Deerfield Police Department. There are only 20 spots available; 10 spots from 9am-11:30am and 10 spots from 1pm-3:30pm.
The Academy is FREE to attend!
Who Can Attend
Applicants must live in Deerfield and be 10-13 years old at the time of the Academy. The Deerfield Police Department reserves the right to deny enrollment for any reason.
