This week, the contractor’s underground crew completed the installation of the new storm sewer and water main in the unpaved roadway segment between Chestnut Street and Wayne Avenue. This is a significant milestone that marks the completion of all underground work associated with the project.
Simultaneously, pavement excavation has continued down Hazel in the remaining work zone to prepare for subbase improvements and the continued installation of concrete curb, sidewalk and driveway elements. These surface improvement activities are scheduled to continue early next week in the section between Forest Avenue and Chestnut Street. Also next week, the contractor anticipates paving the first layer of asphalt between Forest and Wayne on Tuesday, weather depending.
The Village’s leaf collection program has been extended by one week due to the late date of leaf dropping this season. The program will now run through the week of December 1, when crews will make one final pass by all homes in the Village, including the work area along Hazel Avenue.
