2025 Hazel Avenue Reconstruction Project

The Department of Public Works and Engineering will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, between 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM at Village Hall, 850 Waukegan Rd, Deerfield, IL 60015 to share information and answer questions related to the 2025 Hazel Avenue Reconstruction Project. The limits of the project are from Wilmot Road to Waukegan Road (IL 43).The project will consist of a full reconstruction to provide a consistent pavement width, widen sidewalk with ADA attributes and improve underground utilities. A width of 24 feet will be maintained from Wilmot Road to Wayne Avenue and the pavement will be widened to a width of 22 feet from Wayne Avenue to Journal Place. The project also includes replacing the existing 6" and 10" watermains with a new 12" watermain. This will involve trench excavation and water service reconnection to the homes. Notices of temporary water service interruptions will be distributed to those affected at each location before the work occurs. Public Works’ engineering staff and the project construction manager, Civiltech Engineering, will be available to answer questions about the project. The award of the construction contract is anticipated for January 2025. Construction is then anticipated to begin in February and conclude in November, 2025. The Village will also post information on the Village website.
