1. Who's eligible?

The Village’s Taxi Subsidy Program is open to Deerfield residents aged 65 and older and to those with documented disabilities. This service is provided at no cost for our residents.

2. How does the program work?

Registered participants are provided with up to 50 one-way-tickets each month for taxi rides beginning and/or ending in Deerfield. Please note that a ticket does not constitute a tip.
- Rides Beginning and Ending Within Village Limits: A rider submits 1 ticket plus $1. The total cost of the trip is $1.
- Rides Beginning or Ending Outside Village Limits: A rider submits 1 ticket and $5 is taken off the metered fare.
- Caregivers: Caregivers can ride with the registered rider for a cost of $1.

3. Are airport trips covered by the Taxi Subsidy Program?

No. Trips to/from the airport are no longer eligible for the Taxi Subsidy Program.

4. What if there is more than 1 registered rider using the same taxi?

If there are two registered riders, each rider submits 1 coupon plus $0.50. If there are 3 registered riders, each rider submits 1 coupon plus $0.25.

5. Which taxi companies can we call?

6. How do I sign up?

Fill out a registration form provided at Village Hall and return it to: Village Hall, 850 Waukegan Road, Deerfield, IL 60015. For more information or to register, contact Management Analyst David Fitzgerald-Sullivan at 847-719-7400.

7. How do I report complaints?

If you experience any problems with taxi drivers while using a Taxi Subsidy Program ticket, please do the following:

1. Record the day and time of the trip 2. Record the Taxi Company and Taxi Number 3. Call David Fitzgerald-Sullivan at the Deerfield Village Manager's Office at 847-719-7400
