Enroll Today in the Fall Session of the Citizen's Police Academy

The Citizen’s Police Academy is a nine-week program designed to enhance communication between the police department and the community. Participants are instructed in a variety of law enforcement topics by officers who specialize in those areas. The Academy is FREE to attend!

 The Fall 2025 session will be held Wednesday evenings 7:00pm-9:30pm from September 10 through November 5. Registration closes August 25 or when session is full. Register online today.

The Citizen’s Police Academy is open to anyone who is 18 years of age or older and lives or works in Deerfield. A background check is completed on all applicants. The session will be limited to 10 participants. The Deerfield Police Department reserves the right to deny enrollment for any reason.

Village of Deerfield's Harvest Fest Returns Sept. 20

The Village will be filled with food, fun, cars, music and community on Saturday, September 20. The day kicks off with the Farmers Market, followed by the Cruise into Harvest Fest Car Show and concludes with Harvest Fest, featuring live music and delicious food. All three events will be held in Downtown Deerfield on Robert York and Park Avenue. Harvest Fest attracts thousands of residents and visitors each year. This year's Harvest Fest will include live music, various restaurants, a beer and wine tent, and a bags tournament hosted by the Deerfield Park District.

  • 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Deerfield Farmers Market
  • 9:00 a.m. to noon Touch-a-Truck at Farmers Market
  • 2:30 to 5 p.m. Cruise into Harvest Fest Car Show (Register your vehicle here) 
  • 3 to 4 p.m. Live Music by Roger That
  • 4 to 5 p.m. Live Music by Delta Pines 
  • 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Live Music by Blooze Brothers
  • 6 to 8 p.m. Bags Tournament hosted by the Deerfield Park District (Registration Required)

Stronger Together Deerfield Presentation

District 109's first Stronger Together Deerfield program is set for Thursday, August 14, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Caruso Middle School. Author, speaker, marathon runner, triathlete, champion bodybuilder and former educator Molly Kennedy will provide actionable steps that parents and other caring adults can take to increase resilience, confidence and mental wellness of the children in our community.

DAHS Call for Artists: Master Gardener

The Deerfield Area Historical Society invites you to bring your garden questions and learn from the pros this Sunday, August 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Deerfield Historic Village, 450 Kipling Place. The DAHS entered into a partnership with the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners of Lake County to recreate gardens around the Historic Village. Visit often to see the progress of the gardens.

Sunday events continue with: 

  •  August 24 (1-4 p.m.) - Plein Air Painting: Artists are invited to paint on-site
  • September 14 (2-4 p.m.) - Everything Bee Day: Beekeeper demonstrations with local honey and fun for all
  • September 28 (1-4 p.m.) - Scout Fun for Everyone: Wall climbing, monkey bridge, s'mores and classic scouting activities

The Deerfield Historic Village is open Sundays, from 2 to 4 p.m., June through September. Admission is free. The Deerfield Area Historical Society, a donor-supported, nonprofit organization that maintains the Historic Village.
