Starting this morning, the contractor will continue paving the section of road through the downtown area between Greenwood Avenue and Central Avenue. Weather depending, the contractor plans to pave the remaining areas in this section on Tuesday. Motorists are encouraged to drive slowly through active construction operations and expect delays.
In the northern section between Greenwood Avenue and Half Day Road, the contractor anticipates completing the remaining structure adjustments and traffic detector loop installations this week. This will allow the contractor to begin paving this section in the next week or so.

Weather depending, surface paving will continue on Thursday, June 27, beginning just north of the Fire Department and ending near Warwick Road. This middle section will include paving through the downtown area. Just like the first round of paving, this work will require frequent changes in the traffic pattern to allow the contractor to pave all lanes. Motorists are encouraged to drive slowly through active construction operations and expect delays.
Pavement grinding has been completed through the the entire project. Adjustments of utility structure adjustments will continue in the north section (Warwick Rd to Half Day Rd) in preparation for final paving.
In the section near Lake Cook Road, pavement marking will also begin in the next week. Pavement marking will continue north through the middle section of the project once paving is completed in this section.

Over the last few weeks, the contractor was able to complete the required concrete replacements and nearly complete the the brick replacements in the downtown area. Additionally, they were able to prepare the roadway for the upcoming grinding operations.
Starting on today, May 28, the contractor plans to begin the pavement grinding operation. This work requires the use of heavy truck traffic and will result in delays to the motoring public. This week, the contractor will focus their efforts on the area south of Deerfield Road.
