Brierhill Road Project Construction Update – 4/21/2017
The contractor completed the installation of the water main down Brierhill Rd this week. The only remaining water main left to be installed will be the main that will connect the Sequoia Lane main to the Brierhill Rd main which will happen at a later date. The contractor also began the installation of the new fire hydrants. The Village will be installing more hydrants than what previously existed which is due to current standards requiring shorter spacing between hydrants.
Next week, the contractor will work to complete the hydrant installation and miscellaneous underground work. Once the hydrants are completed, the contractor will pressure test and chlorinate the new main in preparation of installing the new water services.
ComEd Pole Relocations
As previously communicated, ComEd began the relocation of the pole that is on the inside of the first curve from Deerfield Rd today. To move this pole to the opposite side of the road and to transfer the live wires to the new pole, the ComEd used much of the roadway around that curve. ComEd will be working late tonight in order to complete as much of this work as they can before Saturday and any landscapers that may show up. Because ComEd was able to get a lot of the work done today, the work on Saturday will only affect traffic minimally.
When parking over the weekends, please remember not to park in an area that is already constricted due to construction barricades, equipment, or stone piles. Please make sure there is plenty of room for other cars to pass by when parking along Brierhill Road.
Please be advised that the information communicated here is a forecast of proposed operations which may change due to contractor availability and/or weather conditions.
