Recycle Political Signs

From April 1-29, you can recycle corrugated plastic yard signs at the Highland Park Recycling Center. Be sure to remove wire supports, which can be recycled separately as scrap metal. The Highland Park Recycling Center, at 1180 Half Day Road in Highland Park, is open every Tuesday and the first Saturday of each month from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. For more information, visit their website or call 847.432.0807

Please Note: This program is for corrugated plastic yard signs only. Do not place these signs in regular home recycling bin, bring them to a drop-off location to be recycled properly.

'Do I Need a Permit?'

The Community Development Department’s Building Division wants to remind residents that in most cases a permit is required when there is an intention to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish or change occupancy of a building, erecting, installing, enlarging, altering, repairing, removing, converting or replacing something structural, electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing systems. Download our handy “Do I Need a Permit?” infographic for more information.

All permits are processed entirely on-line and the process is completely paperless. After you obtained all your contractors and detailed plans, simply apply online and complete a few questions based upon the type of permit you are requesting.
