Deerfield Art Festival Returns June 1-2

The Deerfield Art Festival is filling Park Avenue with 100+ original artists on Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2. Start your family or friend’s day downtown with coffee/breakfast, then soak in the creativity of the fest!  Make your own masterpiece at our live painting class, or plan a creative stop in the Kid Zone. Break for lunch and enjoy a cold beer, lemonade and delicious snacks at the fest. Be sure to look for Kid’s Art Stop and Live Art Demo signs to get interactive with the artists.  Many of Deerfield’s great restaurants, cafes and retail stores are open all weekend.

Junior Police Academy Registration

The Junior Police Academy offers a unique opportunity for middle school students to dive into the world of law enforcement and connect with Deerfield Police Officers. Through a blend of age-appropriate instruction and hands-on activities, participants gain valuable insight into the duties and responsibilities of police officers while learning about safety, service, fitness and leadership. The academy runs August 5-9, 2024 in two separate sessions, 9am-12pm & 1pm-4pm. Register online.

Deerfield Farmers Market Opens June 8

Get ready for the grand opening of the 30th season of the Deerfield Farmers Market on June 8! The Village and the Farmers Market Committee are thrilled to invite you to join us on Park Avenue between Jewett Park Drive and Hazel Avenue, every Saturday morning from June 8 to October 5, 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Get ready to dive into a plethora of market activities - from live musical performances to engaging kids' activities, community group involvement and special events - there's something for everyone. For the safety and comfort of all visitors, please remember that bikes are not permitted inside the market, and dogs must be leashed on a 6-foot lead or less.

Join the Farmers Market in celebrating this milestone season with our dedicated vendors and patrons, and extend a warm welcome to newcomers eager to experience the charm of our market community.

Deerfield Area Historical Society Tours

The Deerfield Historic Village will be open for tours Sundays, 2-4 p.m., starting this Sunday through September. Located at the southwest corner of Kipling and Deerfield Roads, the Historic Village includes the Caspar Ott log house, 1837 (the oldest building in Lake County), a carriage house, two pre-Civil War era homes and a one-room schoolhouse that has been a favorite for children for many years. Admission is free.
