Holiday Drive-Thru Charity Event - Saturday, December 15

Holiday Drive-Thru

Join the Deerfield Police Department for the 9th Annual Holiday Drive-Thru Charity event on Saturday, December 15 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the northeast corner of Deerfield Road and Rosemary Terrace. Deerfield Police officers, US Marines and other helpers will be on hand to collect donations of non-perishable food items, personal care items, cleaning supplies, toiletries and new, unwrapped toys. Hand your donations to our volunteers from the comfort of your vehicle!

Proceeds will be donated to Toys for Tots, the West Deerfield Township Food Pantry, the ARK and the North Chicago Community Partners Family Care Closet.

Also joining us will be members of the Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry, a national human-care ministry embracing the unique, calming nature and skills of purebred Golden Retrievers. The LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs are a bridge for compassionate ministry, trained to interact with people of all ages and individuals who are suffering and in need.

Lutheran General Holiday Gift Drive

Lutheran General

The 8th Annual Holiday Gift Drive collection for Lutheran General Hospital is taking place now! Each year, members of the Deerfield Police Department hand out gifts to kids and their families who are hospitalized during this time of year.

Anyone wishing to donate to this cause should bring a new, unwrapped gift to the Police Department (850 Waukegan Road), and drop it off at the Records Department. The hospital will not accept stuffed animals due to infection control guidelines, but toys for all ages and gift cards have always been a big hit.

Donations are being accepted now, and officers will be visiting Lutheran General Hospital on Tuesday, December 18 at 1 p.m.

For more information, contact the Deerfield Police Department at 847.945.8636.
