America250 Time Capsule Buried at Village Hall
This morning, Deerfield marked a special America250 milestone with the burial of a community time capsule at Village Hall.
Joined by community partners, the Village celebrated Deerfield’s history, honored the people who make the community special and looked ahead to the future. The time capsule serves as a snapshot of Deerfield in 2026, and was created with the hope that, when it is opened 50 years from now, it will reflect a community rooted in connection, service and pride.
During the ceremony, Mayor Dan Shapiro spoke about Deerfield’s future and the values that will continue to define the community for generations to come. He expressed confidence that while Deerfield will evolve over time, its heart will remain the same — a place that values service, neighborliness, civic pride and opportunity.
The Village thanks everyone who attended the ceremony, as well as the many community partners helping make Deerfield’s participation in America250 meaningful and memorable.
