Clear out your old paperwork and protect your personal information at Deerfield’s Shredding Event on Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to noon, or until the trucks are full, at Public Works, 465 Elm Street. 

The event is for Deerfield residents only, with a limit of three bankers boxes per household. Space is limited, so come early!

Public Works Open House - Saturday, May 16

Join the Village of Deerfield and Deerfield Park District from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, for a kid- and adult-friendly Open House at Deerfield’s Public Works Facility, 465 Elm Street. Parking is available at the Patty Turner Center, 375 Elm Street.

This event is free for all ages and will feature:

  • Tours and Exhibits
  • Fun Giveaways
  • Hands-On Activities
  • Touch-a-Truck
  • Prizes
  • Vendors & Education
  • Public Works Merchandise
  • Free Compost Toolkits
  • Hefty ReNew Bags

Outbound A Cappella

Outbound A Cappella

Enjoy an afternoon of live music at the Deerfield Public Library on Saturday, May 9, at 2 p.m., when Outbound A Cappella brings a fun, wide-ranging setlist featuring songs from Whitney Houston to Moana. Sponsored by the Deerfield Fine Arts Commission, this performance is sure to entertain music lovers of all ages. Register today.

2026 Street Rehabilitation Project 

The Village of Deerfield’s 2026 Street Rehabilitation Program is underway. Thanks to favorable weather conditions, construction began in early April and is anticipated to be completed by the end of September.

This year’s project includes the reconstruction and rehabilitation of eight streets within the Village:

  • Berkley Court (Stratford Road to Linden Avenue)
  • Broadmoor Place (Hazel Avenue to Greenwood Avenue)
  • Earls Court (Hackberry Road to Rosewood Avenue)
  • Oakley Avenue (Hazel Avenue to Greenwood Avenue)
  • Somerset Avenue (Cherry Street to Broadmoor Place)
  • Sprucewood Avenue (Birchwood Avenue to eastern limits)
  • Stratford Road (Greenwood Avenue to North Avenue)
  • Rosewood Avenue (Birchwood Avenue to Fairview Avenue)

Project updates will be shared on the Village website. Residents may subscribe to receive email and/or text notifications online.

Celebrate America 250 with Abigail Adams

Celebrate America 250 with the Deerfield Area Historical Society at a special evening featuring Abigail Adams, portrayed by Leslie Goddard, on Friday, May 8, at the Patty Turner Center, 375 Elm Street, Deerfield. Doors open at 6 p.m., dessert is served at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $15, Life Members are free, and those who renew or become a DAHS member for $25 will receive one free ticket. Registration is required, with payment accepted at the door. RSVP by May 1 to DeerfieldHistory@gmail.com with your name, phone number and number in your party.
