Winter Celebration and Market Dec. 6-7

Enjoy a weekend of winter fun with the Village of Deerfield! The Winter Celebration kicks off the festivities on Friday, December 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Village Hall. The event will feature live ice sculpting, performances by the Deerfield High School Choraliers and Frozen Robins, roasted chestnuts and complimentary snacks and treats. Take a tractor ride through downtown and take in the holiday lights. A special thanks to Patty Turner Center, Italian Kitchen, Deerfield Auto & Tire and Deerfield BP for sponsoring the event.

The celebration continues on Saturday, December 7, with the Winter Market, taking place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Patty Turner Center, 375 Elm Street. Browse a variety of craft and retail vendors, get into the holiday spirit with live music, enjoy food and activities for kids, and visit nonprofit booths. Highlights include a balloon artist, giant outdoor snow globe, Santa and a Polar Express train ride. Visit the Winter Market website for a full list of vendors.

Thank you to our sponsors ISI Elite Training and Deerfield Lions Club.

Adopt-A-Hydrant: Help Keep Our Community Safe

During the winter months, heavy snowfall can make it difficult for firefighters to locate and access fire hydrants during emergencies — when every second counts. To ensure quick access and enhance public safety, the Village of Deerfield invites residents, businesses and community groups to participate in our Adopt-A-Hydrant Program.

When you adopt a hydrant, you’re committing to keeping it accessible and visible throughout the year. As a fun perk, you even get to name your adopted hydrant to show your dedication to community safety!

Participation in the program is simple:

  • Visibility: Ensure your adopted hydrant is clearly visible from the street.
  • Snow and Ice Removal: Keep the hydrant free of snow and ice after snowfall or plowing.
  • Clearance: Maintain a 3-foot clearance around the hydrant for easy access.
  • Debris-Free: Remove grass, weeds, and other debris that may block the hydrant.

By taking part in this program, you’ll be making a meaningful contribution to the safety of our community. First, find hydrants in your neighborhood that are available for adoption. Then, visit the registration page to sign up and name your hydrant.
