Harvest Fest Back Sept. 21 for a Day Full of Fun

Music, food, fresh produce, touch-a-truck and the new Cruise into Harvest Fest car show make Downtown Deerfield the place to be. 

Downtown Deerfield at Robert York and Park Avenues will be packed with food, fun, cars, music and community on Saturday, September 21! The day kicks off with the Farmers Market from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., offering fresh produce, live music and the touch-a-truck event. From 2 - 5 p.m., the first-ever Cruise into Harvest Fest car show will showcase a diverse range of vintage, classic and modern vehicles, with free entry for participants and attendees, sponsored by the Deerfield Lions Club.

Gates open at 5 p.m. for Harvest Fest with 11 food vendors, a beer and wine tent, live music and a bags tournament hosted by the Deerfield Park District. The event will also feature live performances by West End 40 from 5 - 6:30 p.m. and Hi Infidelity from 7 - 9 p.m. Parking for Harvest Fest is available at the Downtown Deerfield Metra and Lindemann parking lots.

Park District ReUse-A-Rama Sept. 14

It is estimated that nearly 85% or more of unwanted items end up in our landfills, which, here in the U.S. and around the world, are filling up fast.

Help keep these items out of the landfill and bring them to the Sachs Recreation Center this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Accepted items include:

  • Hearing Aids

Historic Village

Scout Day at the Deerfield Historic Village

Everyone is invited to Scout Day on Sunday, September 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Deerfield Historic Village along Deerfield and Kipling Roads.  Activities include displays on the history of Scouting, wall climbing, a monkey bridge and s’mores. Since 1914, Scouting has been a part of Deerfield area history.  Admission is free to this community event sponsored by the Deerfield Area Historical Society. 

The Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to collecting and preserving the history of our community.  The Deerfield Area Historical Society receives no tax support and relies on memberships and donations.

Township Assessor Holding Property Tax Appeal Workshops

The West Deerfield Township Assessor’s Office is holding a series of property tax appeal workshops in September at the Deerfield Public Library.

Learn how to:

  • Understand the assessment process
  • File an appeal of your Property Tax Assessment
  • Determine the best method of appealing your assessment
  • Select the appropriate comparable sales to use in your appeal

Dates are:

  • Monday, September 16 @ 7 pm
  • Saturday, September 21 @ 2 pm

No registration required.
