Waukegan Road Water Main Replacement

Waukegan Road Water Main Replacement Update

This past week, the contractor performed roadway patching along the gravel trenches in an effort to reduce potholes and dust. The contractor also began transferring private water services over to the new main. The contractor will continue this work tomorrow (Saturday). Additionally, the contractor completed the mainline water installation in the downtown area that was being completed overnight. This main is currently going through water quality testing requirements prior to going into service.

Next week, May 22 – 26, the contractor will continue transferring private water services over to the new main using multiple crews. This work will result in daily traffic lane shifts and flaggers for the motoring public as well as minimal water disruptions for each property. Advanced notification will be distributed to all properties that will be impacted during the service transfer to the new main. Night work is not anticipated next week.

Updates on the project will be shared via the Village website and interested parties can sign up to receive e-mail and/or text message updates on the project. You can also watch a video of a recent public open house about the project.

The Village appreciates your cooperation during this important improvement. For more information, please contact the engineering department at 847.317.2490.
