Community Roll Call Wednesday

The Deerfield Police Department invites residents to attend the first Community Roll Call at 7 p.m. at Jaycee Park Wednesday, June 29.

At the start of each tour of duty, police officers report for a roll call briefing. This meeting is held to share information from one shift to the next and consists of an overview of emerging trends and calls for service from the last 24 hours. These may include traffic issues and concerns or crime trends. Assignments and areas of patrol are also discussed.

Residents and families are encouraged to attend their Community Roll Call to learn important crime prevention information, safety tips, and meet the patrol officers who serve their community. In addition, we encourage our residents to discuss local issues and matters of concern with officers. Following the presentation by officers, there will be an opportunity for residents to ask questions. Encourage you neighbors to attend as well!

This year’s Parade Marshals are Mayor Emeritus Harriet Rosenthal and the League of Women Voters of Deerfield/Lincolnshire. Rosenthal served 12 years as Mayor and 24 years as a Village Trustee. The League of Women Voters was founded in Chicago on February 14, 1920. Since then, the League has worked to register voters, sponsor candidate forums, provide non-partisan election materials about candidates, and study issues on the local, state and national levels in order to create a better-informed electorate.
