Village Backflow Device Survey

The Illinois EPA requires municipalities to conduct bi-annual surveys to determine if there are any unregistered backflow devices in the Village.

The most common backflow device for residential properties is a reduced pressure zone device (RPZ) installed on irrigation systems. However, a growing number of homes have RPZs on fire suppression systems. A survey form will be inserted in water bills for April, May and June. Residents can either complete the paper survey and return it to the Village or go to www.backflow.com/deerfield to complete the survey online.

The Village of Deerfield Public Works & Engineering Department is seeking to fill one seasonal summer engineering intern position from mid-May through mid-August. Hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Public Works & Engineering the seasonal staff are responsible for performing a variety of general duties including plan review, sidewalk inspections, mapping Village assets and working with hired contractors on capital projects. New Lake County Paratransit Service

Effective May 1, Lake County will begin offering Ride Lake County, a new countywide paratransit service providing borderless transportation services. This new option will enable seniors ages 60-plus and people with disabilities to access any area of Lake County for work, medical appointments and more.
