Governor Pritzker to extend Disaster Proclamation, Stay at Home Order until April 30, 2020

Building on the State’s efforts to flatten the curve of new COVID-19 cases in Illinois and following careful consultation with experts in Illinois and across the nation, Governor JB Pritzker announced that he will sign a 30-day extension of the state’s disaster proclamation on April 1. The disaster proclamation provides the governor the authority to sign additional executive orders, extending the Stay at Home order and suspending on-site learning in K-12 schools through the month of April.

Essential Services, as defined in the Stay at Home Order, will continue to be available. Essential services include healthcare, grocery stores, pharmacies, and others. More information is available at the Stay at Home Order FAQ developed by the State of Illinois.

In following with Gov. Pritzker's extension, the Village of Deerfield will also extend the closure of Village buildings, except the Police Department, through April 30.

Waste Management Reminders

To protect its employees Waste Management will not be collecting any bulk items or anything outside of the garbage or recycling bins as a health precautionary measure. Items outside of the bin require the collectors to physically lift the item into the truck.

Jewel-Osco (Deerfield & Highland Park locations)
Walgreens is out of stickers at this time, but has placed an order and plans to sell them shortly.

Don't Leave Candles of Fires Unattended

Police Chief John Sliozis asks that residents take extra precaution around open flames. There has been an increase in residential home fires recently from unattended candles.
