Village Center Commissioner Helps Launch Helping Hands COVID-19 Crisis Response Website

Ken StolmanHelping Hands is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the most at-risk people in our community stay safe at home, while getting the supplies they need. It works by connecting local volunteers who can run critical errands, such as grocery shopping, with the most vulnerable members of our community. If you or someone you know needs help, fill out a request. If you are healthy and able to volunteer, please sign up to help. Together, we can help flatten the curve of COVID-19 by protecting our community’s most vulnerable.

Deerfield resident, and Village Center Commission member, Ken Stolman, has taken a leadership role (in a volunteer capacity) as the Chicagoland/Midwest Field Director for Helping Hands. He focuses on promotion and outreach to organizations to partner with Helping Hands. The main goal is 1) to get those at risk to sign up for help and 2) find local, healthy volunteers to fulfill the requests. Stolman has secured partnerships from businesses, social networks, elected officials, synagogues, non profits, senior services, schools, universities, camps, and municipalities and, with your help, looks forward to making a significant impact in the weeks and months to come.

Founded by professionals from several of the top tech companies, Helping Hands has grown into a passionate and talented volunteer organization with diverse experience and expertise from across the world. Crucially, we all understand the importance of building solutions for scale: because COVID-19 is a global problem, it requires global solutions that are effective, scalable, and real. The current health crisis is unprecedented. We must move quickly to protect our families, our loved ones, and our fellow community members. We are all in this together, and together, there is a lot of good we can do.
