The General Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, March 17. The following information and dates will help make the registration and voting process easier. Visit the Lake County Clerk’s website for full registration and election information.
Voter Registration
You may register to vote if you are a U.S. citizen, 18 years old at the time of the next election and a resident of Lake County for 30 days prior to the election. Your registration must reflect your current, permanent address. If you have moved, even just across the street, make sure to re-register to vote. If you still need to register to vote, you may do so during Early Voting or on Election Day at your designated polling place. If you register to vote during this period, you must vote at the time of registration.
Early Voting
Any registered voter in Lake County may choose to vote early, and is required to present valid government-issued ID containing their photograph. Early voting runs through March 16. Log on to LakeVoterPower.info to confirm your voter registration status, and find the location and hours of your early voting site.
Vote by Mail
Registered voters may submit a request to have a ballot mailed to them. However, the ballot cannot be mailed before an official request is received by the Lake County Clerk’s office. To request a ballot by mail, contact the County Clerk at 847.377.2406, or visit their Voter Services page here.
