Greenwood Avenue
On Friday, the contractor will continue water main installation within the Waukegan & Greenwood intersection, this time on the east half of the road. This work will limit the ability for traffic to enter and exit Greenwood Ave. If possible, residents are encouraged to park offsite if vehicle usage is required or expected between 8am and 5pm. If residents are not able to park offsite and need to utilize their vehicle, please contact the Engineering Department at 847-317-2490 and ask to speak with someone about the project.
The contractor will not be working over the weekend so residents are free to park as usual. However, on Monday, the contractor will resume the water main installation, starting near Waukegan and working to the east. This work will again result in access impacts.
To help with offsite parking during the project, a pedestrian path from Greenwood Ave to Deere Park Ct was completed this afternoon and is available for those that wish to park along Deere Park Ct. When doing so, please remember not to block driveways or fire hydrants and to be respectful of your neighbors as you walk between their homes. The Village has confirmed that Holy Cross will also allow residents to park within their parking lot (for both Elder and Greenwood residents) but residents must contact the Church first so that vehicle information and parking directions can be shared.
