Greenwood Weekly Project Update - July 12

Posted on July 12, 2019 at 3:26 PM by Tyler Dickinson

July 12, 2019

Work Completed This Week:
The contractor continued the installation of water main on Greenwood Ave, east of the tracks and began to prepare for the required water main testing. The contractor also began the replacement of the existing storm sewer along the south side of the parkway near Park Ave.

Anticipated Schedule for Next Week:
On Monday at 9am, the contractor will install a lane closure on Waukegan Rd from Ivy Lane through Greenwood Ave. This closure is required to allow the contractor to perform the required underground water, storm, and sanitary work near/within Waukegan Rd. As part of this work, there is a planned water main shutdown on Wednesday from 9am – 5pm. Additional notification will be distributed on Monday to all impacted residents as well as through the project blog. It is anticipated that by Friday afternoon, the lane closure will be taken down and traffic will resume its normal operation.

Percentage Complete: 20%

Neighborhood Impacts:
In addition to the above described Waukegan Rd lane closure, residents who live within the full roadway closure will need to be aware of the contractor’s location as that may dictate the best way to get out of the closure. At times, vehicles will not be able to pass the contractor’s work operations which may result in delays to local traffic. Caution should be practiced through the construction work zone and residents must be alert for workers and construction equipment.

The Village appreciates your patience while we complete this improvement. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the Village of Deerfield Engineering Department at 847-317-2490.

Please be advised that the information communicated here is a forecast of proposed operations which may change due to contractor availability and/or weather conditions.
