This is a courtesy notice to inform you that surface paving will take place on Thursday July 18th at the following locations: Castlewood, Cranshire, Chatam, Peartree, Village Green & Montgomery.

The contractor has been granted approval to begin work at 7 a.m. Therefore, paving operations will begin at 7 a.m. and should be completed by the end of the day.

PAVING-MAP--2019Castlwood-Surface

fresh-oilPlease be aware that signs stating “Fresh Oil” may be observed throughout the time period when asphalt paving will occur. The use of fresh oil helps different layers of asphalt to adhere to one another providing a longer lasting final product. Residents should be mindful of driving through fresh oil. If a detour is not in place and motorists must drive through fresh oil, please drive slowly. Driving at higher speeds through fresh oil may cause the material to adhere to the undercarriage and/or fenders of the car, which can be difficult and costly to remove.

This paving operation will result in delays to the motoring public. During paving operations, please note that homeowners will have access to their property at all times via the sidewalk. However, due to limited space during daytime operations, access to driveways may be delayed or denied at times. Please allow ample time for relocation of vehicles and temporary delays that may occur. Though driveway access may be denied during paving operations, access will be permitted once compaction is achieved and the paving has cooled (40-60 minutes). In order to minimize delays, residents should consider relocating vehicles to locations outside of the construction area. Be advised, that driving on new pavement prior to reaching compaction and/or turning your wheels (while standing still) could damage the new pavement. Therefore, please avoid driving on the new pavement until access has been clearly reinstated.

Overnight parking on adjacent streets (AWAY FROM THE PAVING OPERATION) will be permitted during this phase of construction. The Village of Deerfield Police Department has been notified that residents within this area will be parking overnight on Village streets. During the day, between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, please park your vehicle(s) away from the construction area to allow the contractor complete access to the job site.

The Village appreciates your effort in helping to complete this improvement. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the Village of Deerfield Engineering Department at 847-317-2490 and request to speak with someone regarding the Project.
