[ARCHIVED] Poets Corner Paving Update

The original item was published from August 10, 2022 6:33 PM to August 10, 2022 6:36 PM

The paving contractor will return tomorrow (Thursday) to complete the final paving on Whittier and Longfellow. While Longfellow is being paved near Waukegan Road, access to Waukegan Road will be impacted during this operation and therefore, residents are encouraged to use Kipling for access to the subdivision tomorrow. All roadways will be open for traffic by the end of the day.

Additionally, any trash collection that was missed today will occur tomorrow starting at 6am. This will help ensure the garbage trucks are out of the area by the time paving begins.

The Village appreciates your cooperation and patience during this project.

[ARCHIVED] 6 a.m. Paving Tomorrow on Montgomery, 9 a.m. Paving on Kipling (August 10th Paving Schedule)

The original item was published from August 9, 2022 5:33 PM to August 9, 2022 5:43 PM

The Village has approved a 5:30 a.m. start time for tomorrow (August 10th) at Montgomery, so that paving operations may begin promptly at 6 a.m.

Paving Schedule for Wednesday, August 10, 2022:

  • 5:30 a.m. Start Time @ Montgomery
  • 6:00 a.m. Mix Arrives Paving Begins @ Montgomery
  • 9:00 a.m. Approximate Completion of Montgomery
  • 9:30 a.m.  Approximate Paving to Begin on Kipling, Hermitage & Longfellow. (Contractor may return to complete Whittier depending upon production)

The early start is required so that the contractor may complete final surface paving on Montgomery and other locations within the village. This early start is required due to contractor availability, and the Village’s need to complete paving and pavement marking before school starts next week.

Once placement is completed and this layer of asphalt has had time to cool, traffic will be permitted to travel across it (approximately 1 hour after placement).   If you must travel upon freshly placed asphalt, please do not turn the wheel of your vehicle while standing still. This will damage the fresh asphalt.   Turning the wheel may only be done when your vehicle is in motion.
