Greenwood Avenue Project

In early 2017, the Village contracted with Civiltech Engineering, Inc. to begin preliminary engineering studies for the Greenwood Avenue Project. Currently, the project intends to perform a full reconstruction of the Greenwood roadway, including the replacement of the existing water main, from the railroad tracks to Waukegan Rd and a more minimal roadway resurfacing from the railroad tracks to Wilmot Rd. Construction will also be performed on Greenwood Avenue to the east of Waukegan Rd that will include roadway reconstruction and water main replacement. The construction is planned to take place in 2019 and be completed in one season.

The Village has scheduled a Public Information Meeting concerning the preliminary engineering study to take place on March 13, 2018 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at the Village Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to introduce the project to the public, including the project schedule, existing conditions and the proposed improvements. The meeting will be conducted in an informal, open house format. Deerfield Engineering Department staff and Greenwood Avenue Project consultant representatives will be present to discuss the project and answer any questions on an individual basis.
