The Deerfield Farmers Market
The Deerfield Farmers Market was established in 1995 as a way to offer locally grown fruits and vegetables, and other fresh products to our community in an outdoor market setting. Over the years the market has become a fun communal gathering spot for Deerfield residents and a destination point for those in neighboring communities.
We are a weekly Saturday market which operates for 19 weeks during the growing season. Over 25 vendors participate selling conventional and organic vegetables, fruit, fresh-cut flowers and a variety of specialty products. In addition, local civic organizations hold weekly bake sales and other fundraising events. We offer cooking demonstrations and recipe samplings using products available at our market, and host several popular events including our annual Grillfest, Harvest Fest and Apple Pie Contest. We attend each market and are always available to answer questions or provide a helping hand.
In addition to Joan and Joanne, our committee members include Deerfield residents Pat and Tom Jester, Andi and Alan Berkowitz, and Brian Reed. Together with Andrew Lichterman, Assistant to the Village Manager, we continuously work to keep our market active and growing.
