DHS/Farmers Market Poster Contest – #6. You’ll soon be seeing our latest poster entry around town and be able to meet the artist and winner of our 6th annual poster contest. Meet the artist and get your autographed posters at our first market on June 13 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Signed posters will be sold for $5 each with all proceeds benefitting the Deerfield Emergency Fund.
Zucchini Day. July 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. NEW FOR 2015! We were so inspired by this spirited fundraiser at the Northbrook Farmers Market that we just had to duplicate the event. Six local charities and service groups will each create their own imaginative display using zucchini and market patrons will vote for their favorite(s) with tickets purchased for $1 each. At the close of the market, the votes will be tallied and each organization will receive cash donations equal to the number of tickets (“votes”) they received. The group with the most tickets will also receive an additional $250 from the event’s 2015 sponsor - Howard Packaging, a Chicago area distributor specializing in custom printed bags, tissue and Eurototes.
Grillfest. August 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or whenever the corn runs out. It’s FREE! It’s fun! It’s Illinois sweet corn! Need we say more?
Harvest Fest & ‘Touch-a-Truck’. September 26 from 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your family, friends and neighbors to celebrate the fall harvest! Music, kid’s activities and games, balloon creations, and so much more. For more info, click here!
WE WANT YOU!! If you enjoy being outdoors, schmoozing with your friends and neighbors at the market, love to garden or cook, and/or just love our market as much as we do, then come be a part of Deerfield’s “funtastic” Saturday mornings at the market. We are looking for energetic volunteers to help with set up and take down of market operations, staff and be a resource at our new information booth, oversee kids’ activities, and assist with special events. Some physical labor involved.
Whether you are looking to volunteer your time or be a part of our market committee when an opening becomes available, please call or email our Market Manager at 847-948-7333 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
