Deerfield Family Days

 

Deerfield Rotary Club Presents 48th Annual 4th of July 10K/5K Race and 5K Non-competitive Walk

Pre-registration: $25  (ends June 27 - 4 p.m.)

Race Day Entry Fee: $30

The race will start and finish at Walden School and will begin promptly at 8:00 A.M. (rain or shine). Race day registration and packet pick up will be from 7:00 to 7:45 A.M. The 10K race is a two loop USTAF certified course (6.2 miles) through the neighborhoods. Non-competitive 5K walkers do one loop for 3.1 miles.  

First Aid, water, fruit, and baked goods will be provided. The first 200 registered participants will receive a T-shirt. The 10K overall winner for men and women will receive a trophy.1st, 2nd and 3rd place runners in each age group for both 10K men and women will receive medals. The overall winner for men and women of the 5K race will also receive a trophy.

Deerfield Rotarian Barbara Struthers has directed this event for several years. Rotarians Barry Gray and Janice Becker serve as Family Days Commission and Committee members respectively for the event

This race has applied for and received the Chicago Area Runners Association designation as a CARA CERTIFIED RACE. This race has agreed to adhere to and uphold CARA’s Best Practices Guidelines. These Guidelines embody the highest standards for quality, safety and comfort for participants in a road race.
