NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING: In efforts to inform the public of the upcoming project on Lake Cook Road and Waukegan Road, The Village of Deerfield will host a preconstruction meeting for business owners and residents. This meeting will allow the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (CCDOTH) and the project's Contractor, ALamp Road Builders to provide details related to the project.
This project is spearheaded by the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (CCDOTH). The work for 2013 will be concentrated along Lake Cook Road from Deer Lake Road (east of Pfingsten Road) to Ellendale/Birchwood Road (east of Waukegan Road). This is the second part of two individual projects constructed by the CCDOTH, the first project took place in 2011. The overall scope of the first project in 2011 was rehabilitation of Lake Cook Road between Wilmot Road and Pine Street and reconstruction and widening of Lake Cook Road between Pine Street and Deer Lake Road.
The second season of construction, in 2013, will include the full reconstruction of Lake Cook Road between Deer Lake Road and Ellendale/Birchwood Road. Within the reconstruction area, the rehabilitation of Lake Cook Road underneath Metra will also take place as part of this project (between Deer Lake Road and Corporate 500/Deerfield Park Plaza (Lake Cook Plaza)). In planning for this project, CCDOTH implemented many design modifications to avoid utility impacts (cost and schedule savings).
Though this project is managed and administered by CCDOTH, the Village of Deerfield Engineering Department will be assisting in communication and coordination with commuters and businesses that may be impacted by this project. In doing so the Village has created a website to provide up to date information to commuters, while promoting commerce within the job limits.
