2010 Crack Sealing Project

 (Updated 10-23-2010)

Project Status: COMPLETED
Project Start Date: October 22, 2010
Project Completion: October 22, 2010

Project Locations:     Hackberry Road (Birchwood Rd to East end)

Pine Street (Hackberry Rd to Central Ave)

Central Avenue (Wilmot Rd to Castlewood Lane)

This project involved the routing of cracks in pavement then sealing the cracks with a compound. This process helps prevent water infiltration into the pavement base which subsequently extends the pavement life. Streets are selected for crack sealing based on the current condition of the pavement and the cost/benefit of sealing the cracks.

Individual residents are not typically notified of this project because the impact to residents is minimal. This work is done without road closures and is usually completed within one day. Work may produce dust and fine pavement debris which is swept up by the contractor performing the work.

If you have questions or need additional information please contact Robert Phillips, Assistant Village Engineer, at 847.719.7464 or via email at rphillips@deerfield.il.us
