The scope of the project includes repairs of the existing storm sewer systems, curbs, sidewalks and pavement replacement. All work will be located within Village right-of-way. To accomplish this effort, the project has been divided into three phases.
Phase I: Underground utility repair work. Storm drainage structures in the curb line and right of way will be removed and replaced. If you have any type of existing features within the Village right-of-way area then action should be taken by the homeowner to remove or store these items to assure they are not damaged. Examples of these items are sprinkler systems, landscape features, special decorative rocks, brick driveways, electronic “invisible” dog fence, etc.. The Village will not repair or replace private appurtenances that remain within the Village right-of-way.
Phase II: Street Rehabilitation Work. This construction phase includes the following stages:
· Removal and replacement of deteriorated concrete curbs and sidewalks
Hazel Ave. (Wilmot to Stratford)
· Pavement removal. Leaving existing stone sub-base to place new hot mix asphalt.
· Placement of three lifts of new hot mix asphalt pavement. (7.75” in total)
Sheridan Ave, Somerset Ave, Chestnut St. & Hazel Ave. (Stratford Ave to Chestnut St)
· Full depth pavement patching.
· Pavement grinding/removal. Removal & replacement of 3 inches of asphalt pavement.
· Repair of driveway sections damaged by construction.
Phase III: Parkway Restoration. All areas that have been impacted by construction will be restored. We are planning the completion of all three phases of construction by October 1, 2011.
For short periods of time during construction, homeowners may not have access to their driveways or the street. This is required for access to the various utilities, tack coat application and pavement resurfacing work. In these instances, residents will be notified as to dates and times for relocation of vehicles by street posting and/or notification letters. We will try to give as much notice as possible. Due to the scope, complexity and nature of the project, as well as unpredictability of weather, some delays and disruptions may occur. There will be times when no work is occurring on your street. That is because the contractor may be completing work at another location. Therefore we ask for your patience in understanding that the scope of this project includes improvement of many streets.
If during construction time you are planning a special event such as a wedding or large party, please contact us so that we can accommodate your needs as much as possible. The Village appreciates Your cooperation and patience during this project.
