The North Shore Gas Company is preparing to begin work on two system upgrades and reliability projects within the Village of Deerfield. The projects are aimed at replacing aged infrastructure which was originally installed in the 1950s. The work includes replacing medium pressure natural gas mains and residential natural gas services in the Northeast Quadrant of the Village.

Effective Jan. 1, 2014, Illinois law bans the use of cell phones while driving, including reading or sending text messages and emails. Cell phone use is permitted only if using a hands-free device or Bluetooth technology. Violations of the law are considered moving violations and may result in a fine of $75 with a second offense carrying a fine up to $100.
