The Police Department requests your assistance and ask that you call immediately to report any suspicious activity, unfamiliar vehicles (especially if occupied), vehicles that stop for long periods of time in a residential area, vehicles that repeatedly drive slowly through the same area, or suspicious persons on a neighbor’s property, especially in a back yard.
Timely notification and detailed descriptions of cars, especially license plate information and physical descriptions of suspicious persons are very important to us.
You can protect your home by;
· Locking all doors; Deadbolt locks are the best.
· Leaving interior lights on and on timers if away for an extended period.
· Using exterior lighting to illuminate your home to discourage burglars
· If you have an alarm system, arm it whenever you leave your home.
· Cancel newspaper and mail delivery when away for extended periods.
· Ask a neighbor to keep an eye on your home when you are away and do likewise for your neighbors.
· Place a Beware of Dog sign on your front door or in your back yard.
· Be aware of suspicious persons or cars as you leave your home.
The MOST important thing YOU can do is CALL THE POLICE, at (847) 945-8636 or 9-1-1 to report a CRIME or any SUSPICIOUS activity. Be the eyes of your neighborhood.
