The Deerfield Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of part-time telecommunicator. Starting salary is $18.74 per hour; fully qualified rate $22.05 per hour (typically achieved in 24 months). The 9-1-1 Center is a state of the art facility that dispatches for both the Deerfield and Bannockburn Police Department utilizing New World Systems software. The position requires shift work including weekends and holidays.
Requirements: High School diploma or GED, college degree preferred; excellent communication and customer service skills; the ability to multi-task and work under pressure; type 25 words per minute; satisfactorily complete polygraph, medical, and phychological exams.
