Drug Collection Program


Save a Star Drug Awareness Foundation

The Deerfield Police Department launched a pill collection and disposal program in December 2010 sponsored by Save a Star Drug Awareness Foundation. The purpose of this program is to collect and safely dispose of unwanted and unused medications, thus keeping them out of the public water systems and out of the hands of individuals who might otherwise become victims of prescription drug abuse. The pill collection unit is located in the Deerfield Police Department lobby and drop-offs are accepted 24 hours a day.


Our program does not allow us to accept sharps or needles. Locations to safely dispose of sharps can be found at
