On Thursday, December 18, the bridge will be closed in both directions from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Then, starting on Tuesday, December 23, the bridge will be closed to all traffic until Monday, December 29, both day and night.

The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) has advised, due to unforeseen difficulties in operating a program for public collection of electronics, effective December 18, 2014, SWALCO supported residential electronics recycling collection sites within Lake County will begin to shut down and stop accepting electronics until further notice.

There is an active sophisticated phone scam targeting not only our residents, but taxpayers throughout the country. Victims are told they owe money to the IRS and it must be paid promptly through a pre-loaded debit card or wire transfer. If the victim refuses to cooperate, they are then threatened with arrest, deportation or suspension of a business or driver’s license.

Candidate petition packets for the April 7, 2015, elections are available at Village Hall, 850 Waukegan Road, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please note to the first day to circulate petitions is Tuesday, September 23.

Inflow and infiltration, more commonly known as I/I, is caused by storm (rain) water entering the sanitary (waste) water sewer system. This can be the result of defects within the public sanitary sewer system as well as connections of private sources from residential homes. The Village is working to eliminate sources of I/I and looking for residents to do their part to help reduce sewer backups and save money.
