Chauffeur Licensing

2012 Chauffeur Licenses and Vehicle Licenses are being issued from October 1, 2011 to January 20, 2012. 

Licenses are issued at the Police Department Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

Unlicensed Chauffeur drivers after January 20, 2012 will be subject to tickets and fines.

All taxi and chauffeur drivers must be licensed with the Police Department before picking up patrons in Deerfield.  All vehicles picking up in Deerfield must also be registered with the Department.

A taxi/chauffeur driver who is registering for the first time must have a background check through the Illinois State Police, undergo a physical through their doctor, and present a current copy of their Motor Vehicle History (MVR). All these forms are available at the Police Department Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The fee for the chauffeur license is $25.00.

The chauffeur license then has to be renewed annually by presenting the license and a current copy of their Motor Vehicle History (MVR).  The fee for renewing is $25.00.

To register the vehicle the car must undergo a safety inspection, must show current proof of insurance and registration. The fee to register the vehicle is $40.00 annually.  

Listed below are the only locations that Deerfield recognizes as certified to perform safety inspections.  Inspections are considered valid from these two locations only.  A safety sticker will not be given for inspections performed at any other station.  We only give safety stickers to vehicles that register with Deerfield.
