Planning Division

It is through planning that communities can be shaped and guided. Planning ties together many aspects of the Village and its growth with the goal of helping create a healthy, well developed community. The major responsibilities of the Planning Division are to review and analyze all land development plans including subdivisions, special uses, annexations, rezoning and planned unit developments; answer the public’s and residents’ questions regarding development and permits; work with developers who ask what can be done with a piece of land, explaining the development process, and working with them to go through the process; long-range planning, including reviewing and updating the Comprehensive Plan; and miscellaneous activities such as the 2010 Census, window signage regulations, the façade improvement program, build out analysis, assistance with requests for proposals, activley assisting with issue resolution in the Village Center; and other various projects.
