It is through planning that communities can be shaped and guided. Planning ties together many aspects of the Village and its growth with the goal of helping create a healthy, well developed community. The Planning Division reviews and analyzes all land development plans for the Village including subdivisions, special uses, annexations, rezonings and planned unit developments. Planning staff members answer questions from the public and residents regarding development and permits, and work with developers who ask what can be done with a piece of land by explaining the development process. Planning staff members engage in long-range planning, including reviewing and updating the Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Division is also handles other activities such as the window signage regulations, the façade improvement program, build-out analysis, assistance with requests for proposals, actively assisting with issue resolution in the Village Center; and other various projects.
