Brierhill Road Project Construction Update – 5/26/2017

A COUPLE REMINDERS

  • PLEASE REMIND ALL LANDSCAPERS AND CONTRACTORS TO COME OUTSIDE OF CONSTRUCTION HOURS AS PREVIOUSLY DISCUSSED.
  • DO NOT REMOVE UTILITY FLAGS FROM YOUR FRONT YARD. THESE ARE PLACED TO HELP PROTECT THE UTILITIES AND THE WORKERS WORKING AROUND THEM. PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO YOUR LANDSCAPERS.

LAST WEEK

The contractor continued the necessary repairs to the sanitary sewer as well as replacement of some of the storm culverts. The contractor also is working to install the water main loop to Sequoia Lane today and will complete this by early next week.

SCHEDULE

Next week, the contractor will continue the sanitary sewer point repairs which will include the replacement of the sewer pipes at locations where the existing pipe is broken or has nearly collapsed. As this is a repair to an existing line, the contractor will be required to dig along the pipe which at times could be in or around landscaped areas. This will be similar to the water services installations in that the contractor does not have the option of digging elsewhere but will do what they can to help minimize the impacts to the surrounding areas.

Within the next 2 weeks, the contractor will begin pavement removal and excavation. This will require the contractor to remove the top 12” – 15” of the existing road and earth which will impact driveway access the day it is removed in front of a driveway. This is intended to only be an impact during construction hours with all driveways being reinstated daily prior to the contractor going home. Additional communication will follow for the pavement removal operation as well as daily hand delivered notifications concerning impacted driveway access.

Please be advised that the information communicated here is a forecast of proposed operations, which may change due to contractor availability and/or weather conditions.

LAST WEEK

The contractor continued with water services installation and to date, has completed roughly half of the new water services.

SCHEDULE

This week, the contractor will continue to install water services. Residents will receive a notice of water impact the day before any impact is expected. Also, immediately prior to any impact, the contractor will verbally notify those that are home of the impact so that it is not a surprise to anyone.

This work, at times, will require excavation across the entire roadway, causing traffic delays. Depending on the location of a property’s shut off valve, or b-box, the excavation may also extend into a parkway area. This work was discussed at length during the preconstruction meeting held with the residents in March. Please see the below diagram for a visual aid.
