Construction Forecast for the week of 5/22/2017

This construction forecast is for the week of  May 22, 2017 and contains updates for Fair Oaks Avenue, Garand Drive and Pine Street locations.

Fair Oaks Ave Update: 
Removal of the concrete sub-base will begin today. Following the removal of pavement the contractor will install aggregate sub-base. Pavement removal operations will likely pause during the week as rain is in the forecast. Pavement removal will proceed as weather permits.

Garand Drive Update: Underground storm sewer repairs will take place this week on Garand along with tree removal and tree preservation techniques such as root pruning, crown pruning and tree fencing installation.

Pine Street Update:  Paving of base course was completed last week. The contractor intends to return later this week to complete sod placement. Placement of asphalt surface course will take place in 2-3 weeks.

Construction Forecast for the week of 5/15/2017

There will be a good amount of truck traffic in Deerfield next week!  Please drive slowly and carefully through construction sites.

Pine Street Update: Paving Begins on Tuesday May 16, 2017
Paving will take place on Pine Street Tuesday through Thursday of next week. Access to residential properties will be maintained using aggregate (stone) ramps. However, access may be delayed during daytime operations when access ramps are removed and while paving takes place. This may require residents to relocate their vehicles.  Vehicles will be able to travel upon new pavement approximately 30 minutes after placement and compaction is achieved.  residents will be notified using physical notifications at least 24 hours prior to ramp removals.

Fair Oaks Avenue Update: Pavement Removal Continues
The top layer of asphalt pavement was removed on Fair Oaks Ave. Next week, the contractor will return to begin removal of the concrete sub-base. Removal of the concrete sub-base and preparation of the aggregate base course will take 5-10 days.

Garand Drive Update:  Saw Cutting & Tree Operations
The contractor is looking to begin underground work on Garand Drive  in the next couple weeks (pending crew availability).  Therefore, saw cutting of pavement, along with tree removal and the implementation of tree preservation techniques which include root pruning and crown pruning may begin in the next week.

Street Rehab Project: Mid-Week Construction Update

Due to this busy week of construction operations, the Engineering Department offers this mid-week update as it relates to the 2017 Street Rehab Project. 

There will be a good amount of truck traffic in Deerfield today!  Please drive slowly and carefully through construction sites.

Pine Street Update: Pavement Removal Begins Today!
Pavement removal results in heavy truck traffic. Operations will begin at Pine and Hackberry moving south towards Lake Cook Road.  Once pavement is removed, the sub-base will be prepared for paving towards the end of next week. Access to residential properties will be maintained using aggregate (stone) ramps. However, access may be delayed during daytime operations.

Fair Oaks Avenue Update: Concrete Placement Continues
Concrete curb was placed yesterday along the southern portion of Fair Oaks Ave. Today the crews will finish pour aprons and back filling voids along the front and back of curb. Pavement removal could begin as early as next week on Fair Oaks Avenue.
